Last Thursday evening, on 2nd July 2020, our esteemed alumni conducted a virtual panel discussion on Business Outlook and Sustainability Through a Global Pandemic to over 30 participants from the Manchester community.
Our highly respected alumni moderator and panellists included Mr Elangovan Karuppiah, CEO for Regional Solutions & Services Middle East/Asia Pacific at Siemens Smart Infrastructure and Head of Siemens Smart Infrastructure ASEAN, Mr Edmas Neo, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Action Community for Entrepreneurship (ACE), Mr Peter Lee, Head of Enterprise Strategy & International Business Development at TranSwap and Mr Sunil Rai, Partner at Dentons Rodyk & Davidson LLP and Accredited Mediator at Singapore International Mediation Institute and Singapore Mediation Centre.
During the session, our speakers shed insights on the impacts of COVID-19 on the local business environment and identified industries that were volatile prior to the pandemic as well as those that would be transformed in the aftermath. They also highlighted upcoming mega trends such as accelerated digitalisation and the evolution of business travel, and gave their expert opinion on what to expect as the new norm for entities after the pandemic, recommending sustainability measures that businesses can adopt.
The multidimensional nature of the conversation led for an engaging discussion and we were glad to see our participants enjoying the session.
